The Classic: Tire Change on the ZT3
The ZT3 comes with beefy 11-inch tires. It rides great, but a flat tire is no fun. While the all-weather tires are tough, even the best rubber won't save you from some city glass. We often see people trying to change the tire with two screwdrivers in their garage – honestly? Don't do it. The rims on the Ninebot scratch easier than you'd think.
In our experience, it makes sense to switch to high-quality all-weather tires once you have to open it up anyway. It gives you the grip you need, especially during autumn around here.
Important Note on Tire Pressure
Check your tire pressure regularly! Most flat tires we see in our workshop are caused by low pressure. It wears down the tire and eventually leads to a blowout.
Brakes & Safety on the Segway ZT3
The ZT3 has a lot of power, so the brakes need to be top-notch. We check the disc brakes thoroughly during every inspection. If you hear grinding or if the lever touches the handlebar, it's time for action. Usually, it's just the pads, but sometimes the disc is slightly bent (happens during transport or if the scooter tips over).
