Let's be real: The Ninebot G30D is basically a tank. Indestructible, solid, faithful. But when the air finally goes out, things get uncomfortable. At our Ludwigsburg workshop, we often see people coming in totally frustrated with scratched rims because they underestimated the tire.
The G30D tubeless tires have an extremely hard core (steel wire in the bead). If you approach this with the wrong tools or no plan, you lose. But don't worry, we'll go through this together. And if it gets too much: You can always just conveniently mail it in.
Step 1: Freeing the Wheel (And Saving the Cables)
First, the yellow stickers need to come off. Underneath are the screws for the plastic covers. For the rear wheel (motor), it gets tricky: You have to unscrew the bottom plate to disconnect the three motor phase cables and the Hall sensor cable.
Our tip: Remember exactly which plug went where (take a photo!). Once the wheel is out, watch the washers – they have a specific orientation (tab washers) so the axle doesn't spin.
The Ultimate Workshop Hack: Heat!
Never try to mount an ice-cold tire. Put the new tire on a heater for 20 minutes or carefully use a heat gun. A warm tire is your best friend with the G30D – it becomes much more pliable.
Step 2: Breaking the Bead
Get all the air out! Now the tire bead must be loosened from the rim flange. It often sticks really tight. In the workshop, we use a specialized tool, but you can carefully use a C-clamp to squeeze the tire until it slides into the rim's drop center. Without this step, you'll never get the tire off with levers.

Step 3: Mounting & The 'Pop'
Grease the tire and rim thoroughly with mounting paste (or liquid soap, please no grease!). Position the warm tire and pry it over with sturdy metal levers. Watch the valve!
Once it's on, the moment of truth arrives: it needs to seal. You've usually lost with a hand pump here. You need a powerful burst of air (compressor) so the tire is pushed against the rim and goes 'Pop'. Only then will it hold air. Check the correct tire pressure afterward so you don't have to do it again soon.
A little tip from us: If the tire absolutely won't seal, take a tension strap and tighten it around the center of the tread. This pushes the sidewalls outward.
No mood for the stress?
Before you ruin your rim or lose your mind: We do this every day. Just send us your wheel and we'll change the tire within 24 hours.
